Munster, what a year!
LOL @ that dipshit Gallen calling this QLD squad the worst in it's history. I'm sure your team appreciated that added motivation for the opposition, bro.
Know they aren't doing it again but I actually liked having Origin played at the end of the year. Felt like winning the series meant a lot more 'cos it was compressed into three weeks and it's the same squads, rather than mid-year when it interrupts the NRL season and the teams from game one and three are always so different because of how much time has passed. Anyways.

I agree, having it at the end was infinity better, and having Queensland rise above gave me renewed interest in Origin.
Game 1 was a shock, Game 2 was predictable, Game 3 was awesome.

I was actually gonna post in here before Origin 3, but didn't cause no one was around lol. I got the feeling Origin was kinda dead over this side of the Tasman. Maybe its cause QLD wasn't good? But I find the NZ split is about 50/50 NSW/QLD and you didn't hear much about it at all.
I also feel the NRL is run by amateurs but thats a different story lol. They try and big ups themselves all the time but fuck theres always so many complaints about the officiating and rules and suspensions, its a little embarrassing really.
I actually also didn't post because I looked up the results and realized QLD had another 3 peat a couple of years ago and I didn't even realize/remember. Maybe its just me I dunno. I find it really hard to watch league now outside of the Raiders.
In other news, the Warriors have actually built a decent squad. Just a shame they hired an average shit coach, but he may be able to get them firing.
Raiders are gonna have to really grub it up next year, cause they've got like no outside backs with pace at all. Embrace the wrestle!

I do agree its better at the end of the year though, but that would cut into internationals with England in a normal year? And the World Cup.
It does seem retarded to fuck up your competition in the middle of the year for 3 'All Star Games'. You wouldn't see the NBA pull guys out of games so they could play in the All Star Weekend. But as I mentioned in my above post, the NRL is run by amateurs.

I'm still around bro, lol. And I've only got like one or two people in my life who give a shit about league now (one of them we'd have awesome chats about Origin only a year or two ago and then this year I was like "how bout that game last night?!" and she goes "oh, I didn't watch it...caught some highlights though" so I miss chatting about it with you guys Fair point re the internationals, hadn't really thought about those. And to your point about the complaints - I honestly don't think it's helped that they've got so many ex players in the media now and given them the platform to run their mouths. The likes of Gallen, Ennis and Burgess. Even Joey and Gus have been embarrassing to listen to this year. Not that they haven't been other years, but this year it's just been completely unfiltered to where it's made the game look rubbish. Cronk is prob the only one I actually enjoyed listening to and that's 'cos he focuses on articulating the actual on field game play rather than just wanting to spill his personal opinion. Also, I'm beyond over the whole Cam Smith debacle. He's not fooling anyone, we know the Storm have known he's retiring for months now, he's pretty much confirmed it in his book when he said he wouldn't play on if it meant Brandon and Harry would have to leave, and both haven't indicated they're leaving the club, so just bloody announce it already. If Payten stuck around I'd say Warriors are top 4 next year for sure! But yeah, it's always tricky with a new coach. I actually think Brown is decent, but for whatever reason he hasn't been able to stick with a club and tbh I can see the Warriors moving him on again in a few years if he doesn't get them into finals contention.

Its embarrassing listening to Johns and Fittler dribble on about things lol. I think the game has passed Gus by as well. I don't know why they keep rolling him out every year

So it's pretty much the Panthers comp to win huh. Probably get one back on the Storm in the GF.
Souths and Roosters to make up the Prelim numbers. Think Parra will falter again.
Rest are just there to provide content for television.
Looking forward to all of those sinbins for minimal high contact and subsequent even ragier outrage during Origin this year.

Warriors look to be good enough to round out the top 8 as well. Although there's a big drop-off after the top 5.
Raiders have bottomed out and look prime for a rebuild. If this was an American comp they'd be tanking for the #1 draft pick
Can't believe they wanna add 2 or more new teams when there's so many average teams right now that are struggling to compete, and have a team of 17 capable players. And yet the Roosters always have the best junior to come in when they are ravaged by injuries. Hmmm.

Yeah I dunno about the Raiders. I tend to think they're just going through a year where shit isn't going right for them. Injuries, players with issues, 50/50 calls not going their way, players out of form... it's all just compounded. Similar to the Roosters in 2016 where they randomly ran 15th before bouncing straight back again. Once Raiders will find their mojo, they've got a good enough team to be back in the top 4.
They do have to get rid of Hodgson though. Tigers went through it with Farrah - once the hooker and halves can't get on the same page about who's running the team, it's a lost cause. Unless Williams is buggering off home.
