Dunk Contest is dead again lol. You can tell they don't take it serious when they've got Mark Wahlberg, Chris Rock and DJ Khaled as judges.
I'm getting sick of the same old throw it up and windmill or tomahawk it. I guess they've run out of ideas (I said that last year before Gordon pulled out some unique ones). At least no one did a free throw line dunk this year I guess haha.
I agree they need to mix it up. What happened to that teams event? They tried HORSE one year and from what I remember it went on for aaaaages

Yeah that shooting stars thing was awesome, it actually was one of my favourite things (go Team Bosh!) and a great way to get it started.
I get that HORSE might be a problem time wise but you can put something on it to make it work, what I would do would be to have a rep from every team, split it by conference (with one lucky team getting a bye) and have them play down to the conference final earlier in the day (or even the day before) and have the rest on Saturday night.

They could live stream the early rounds of HORSE on their Facebook page, because technology.
They could use the 4 zones they used for the team game as HORSE spots plus one competitors choice.
It would be cool if they involved some recently retired and former stars as well. Imagine Pierce, Kobe, Artest, Nash, Kidd etc in a 3pt competition

Yeah having some former stars would be good too.
All Star game actually delivered, I loved that they didn't just totally fuck around with no defence and gave a shit at the end. <3 LeBron.

Interesting that Kawhi is medically cleared to play, but has chosen not to...
Would the Spurs take the Brooklyn pick and filler (or Love) for him? Wishful thinking I know lol

Kirk Penney's last game tonight... Mel I tried to get into the Breakers (and Phoenix) and watch as many games as I could this season. The schedule is sometimes whack but caught as many as I could Pretty disappointing and soft ending to the season. But Melbourne have been class for weeks now. They'll be tough to beat

Team USA are going to play Australia in a two game series in August next year in Melbourne, and all top NBA players will be available apparently.

So Curry is fucked again. Kyrie is fucked. The Raptors are the Raptors.
Can the Cavs beat the Rockets 4 out of 7? Surely that choker Harden, and CP58 can't win the finals, right?

The #1 player in the next college basketball recruit class, RJ Barrett, is Steve Nash's godson. His Dad played with Steve Nash in the Canadian national team. He won MVP at the Fiba U19 World Champs as a 17 year old. He's going to Duke, along with the #2 and #3 overall recruits in the class, so they'll be odds on favourite to win next year I'd say. This class also has Bol Bol (#4 overall - Oregon), and Shaq's son Shareef (#29 overall - UCLA)

Lol <3 Westbrook. Funny Melo taking the piss out of him stealing rebounds too.
Sucks we won't get a Warriors/OKC first round though....they were a chance to take them without Curry IMO.

Cavs definitely aren't making the Finals this year though. Somehow trade for Kawhi and get Lebron to stay, please.

Yeah, he won't be playing with LeBron next season either way. I don't know if I want the Cavs to win tomorrow, they are obviously up against it but if anyone can drag this ragtag bunch to the Finals it's LeBron. The problem is (and he knows this), they would be on a hiding to nothing in the Finals, 1 game would be the lot and it would just be another Finals loss for LeBron for haters to pile on as a ridiculous reason why he isn't so incredible (when just getting there with these mother fuckers is crazy, even making the ECF is a good effort given where they were at the deadline.....add in what we know about how they got there and it's just crazy). The dude is insane, what LeBron has been doing......is insane....in his 15th season, what the fuck. Can you imagine any other player at all being able to do what he is doing with these scrubs. Korver is their 3rd best and arguably at times their 2nd best player, with Love out Hill played a great game 6, but holy hell they have nothing much else outside of 1 or 2 guys who may help LeBron at any given time.
The only way the Cavs win tomorrow isn't LeBron.......well of course it will be LeBron because LeBron will be LeBron but as we know that doesn't mean it'll be enough (like his 40+ point triple double), it's JR Smith/TT. JR Smith needs to go full Alfred and have a ridiculous game for them to have any chance at all and TT needs to be a beast on the boards, these players have stepped up for him before in big games but the way things have gone I'm not holding my breath.
But yeah, like I say I dunno if I want them to win given how painful it is going to be to watch and then listen to ignorant hot takes and opinions during the Finals.
In the West I fully expect the Rockets to shit the bed in game 7 and then have the Warriors walk to another title, it's a damn shame CP3 went down and (if he played game 7) I highly doubt he will have the impact he had in games 4 & 5. They are the best team, but fuck the Warriors are lucky when it comes to stars getting injured

I agree with all that man. If Lebrons not gonna win the title he might as well not have another finals loss for the haters to go on about. It's just so sad that no one expected them to make the ECF and now they're there it's gonna be a choke just because the Celtics top 2 guys are out. Coaching is really underrated sometimes.
It's so disappointing JR gets so many open 3 looks and just bricks them. It's not even like he needs to do anything except stand there and shoot. And he still can't bury them. I'll really miss Lebron when he hangs it up. He's been so immense this playoffs it's such a shame so many people hate on him just because the media tries and compares him to Jordan. They should appreciate him while they can. There may never be another all round player like him for a while. It could've been Durant, until he took himself out of the challenge and just joined up with the team he choked against.
I cant believe the Rockets are probably gonna choke, I mean I knew it was gonna happen, but still lol. Curry and Thompson are just too much when they're hot. And when you add in Durant, who really can stop them? Especially at home
Imagine if the Cavs got over the Rockets in the Finals though. Wouldn't that just be swell.
One time.
