Its so weird that the Roosters have an easier run to the GF than the Storm

That was amazing!! <3 <3.
Kept thinking the Sharkies would steal it at some point both in regular time and extra time! In fact if Gal offloads to Graham in the last minute of regular time, he scores untouched. Shades of last year's GF finish with Cronk.

Sharks got so screwed in the last 5 minutes Little bit of payback for the 7 tackle try I guess.

"All of my players around him didn't think Taumalolo scored."
Shocking! Not that they're biased or anything. Bet the Cowboys didn't think the first Sharks try should have been awarded either.
Sharks fans complaining about the non strip penalty to level the scores are conveniently forgetting the non strip penalty against the Cowboys that led to the Bird try.
3 outta the 4 coaches of teams that lost this weekend have blamed the officials for the loss. It's so boring and tiresome - feels like an easy crutch for coaches who refuse to take some responsibility for why their team lost. Sharks should have been good enough to roll the Cowboys especially with two of their top stars back, but they just didn't play well enough. End of.

In general I agree that the referee (and coach) blaming culture in the NRL is a bit out of control. Whether these two things are actually linked somewhat (ie. coaches deflecting blame onto referees to help preserve their jobs), is a discussion for another day. But in any event, does seem like Flanagan took this one to the extreme.
A couple of things I will say about it, yes the ref-blaming is getting tiresome but for me the NRL is the worst league consistently for bungling calls. I've been saying it for years, so as long as a) the bunker system is what I would politely describe as not ideal and b) the on-field refs continue making crappy calls, we will have this problem. The penalty the Cowboys were given to level the game should not have been given, and the Sharks should have been given a penalty clear as day when Gallen 'lost' the ball at the end. Yes we are biased towards end-of-game calls rather than calls missed earlier in the game but the fact is both those huge calls went against the Sharks in season-defining situations.
Ref-blaming is lazy but simply saying 'well don't blame the refs, the Sharks could have played better' can be equally as reductive. Every team will make mistakes, especially in tense finals footy like that. Even with their mistakes, they were still arguably the better side for most of that game, so where does that leave us?

I just find it frustrating that certain teams are allowed to control the ruck in defence, holding down etc and their opponents consistently get pinged for doing the same thing.
I also hate the apparent scripting of the penalty count. One team is always dominating the penalty count, and then (I liken it to the 'hot tag' in tag team matches that always happens - or even the inevitable 'Hulk up') the other team will get down the other end of the field, and get 2-4 penalties in a row inside the 20, a lot of the time on the first or second tackle. It doesn't really serve much, except at the end of the game people look at the penalty count and say 'Oh it was 6-5 that didn't affect the game.
I mean sure, it's probably not scripted. But it happens A LOT. I get that there are ebbs and flows in a game of footy, but to have it happen the exact same way every time is a bit weird. Of course there was exceptions like Storm 64-6 over the Rabbitohs. But generally if you're getting hosed in the penalty count in the first half, you can almost expect to get some square ups in the second half. I know it's happened for and against the Raiders this year on plenty of occasions.
I do agree with JR about the fact that the NRL is the worst league for officials getting called out for bad calls. The refs hardly ever seem to be held accountable. I know they have briefs after their games, during the week, but Tony Archer just comes out and backs his guys all the time. Remember that field goal Milford hit where he knocked it on then kicked it. Every person that saw it thought it was a knock on, except for Broncos fans and Tony Archer.
I had to laugh when the bunker came in and they were raving about it and the fucked up a call in the first game it was used in. Kind of sums up the NRL as a whole I think. But lets not get into amateur hour in the front office of the NRL...

That Oates collision was sick! Poor bugger.
Panthers coach probably complain afterwards about the officials stopping the game for player welfare as Penrith were about to score a try.

How can they let Wallace onto the field after his HIA test with blood coming out of his mouth? And then the ref's talking to him and hes got blood around his mouth and eyebrow and still says nothing lol

It will be interesting to see if Adam Blair's allowed to control the ruck so much next season with a Warriors jersey on

Wow, nice fairytale story by the Cowboys. Doubt many expected them to reach the GF qualifier.

Despite what Bennett and club doctors say, I believe Corey Oates doesn't play tonight if it's just round 12 or whatever, and not a Preliminary final.
That was a ferocious head knock last week - if player safety is top priority, he should be sitting out a week.

... and they're still going to win by 30. Based on my lip reading abilities, it looked like Cam Smith said "That was a cheap shot ya fuckwit! Cheap shot and a fucken dog act."

Also, way to go Warriors recruitment - 2.8 million for that grub who's dishing out cheap shots and conceding penalties. He'll fit right in next year. <3 Cronk refusing to walk out with the guard of honor and calling the Storm players over to walk out alongside him.

Honestly gave them no chance tonight, but how good!!! They knocked out all of my most hated teams atm  So much <3 for the Cowboys right now. How good is Morgan been in the finals, unreal.

Morgan has been unbelievable in this finals series - best individual form since Hayne in 09'. And he's always been a great player but without Thurston in the side he's been like a superstar player. That flat pass for the Linnett try - so good!! Still hoping the Storm win it just for the fairytale of Cronk, Smith and Slater finishing with a premiership together. Slater's still yet to re-sign with Melbourne so if they win, it wouldn't surprise me to see him call it a career. Sleeping with Merrin's missus (allegedly) was indirectly the best career decision Te-Maire Martin made
